THE LEGACY OF THIS ICONOCLASTIC DESIGN TIMEPIECE LIVES ON THROUGH A NEW COLLABORATION

As basic as one can make it – the PXR-5 by British designer Michael Young. It was one of his first projects after relocating his studio to Hongkong. In 2005 Young took 500 pieces to the SuperStudio show in Milan – they where instantly sold. Over the next years they took the watch to design fairs all over the world, sales increased organically. But Young never really wanted to get his design studio involved with retail. He decided to stop the project.

Over years they kept getting emails from people asking where they can buy this watch.

Luckily Swedisch designer David Ericsson founded VOID watches, a Hongkong based high end independet watch manufacturing company. The two teamed up, updated the finishes, gave it a new packaging, refined the straps and brought back this iconoclastic timepiece. In 2014 the new version of the PXR-5 was first launched exclusively on the dezeen watch store.
