The PAD Concept story is Sasha and Mick Rossmanns’ story. The German and Australian husband and wife team had the guts to create a trailblazing concept for the home textiles market. In 2006, Sasha had spent the past years in interior design and Mick had been working fashion, the two teamed up. It was the start of a very successful business and they created a major player in the home textiles market.
Ever since they spend every minute and every last bit of energy into creating something that has never been there before. Sasha and Mick formed PAD with the spirit of individualism and a big effort towards the unexpected. The collection consists of cushions, tablecloths, aprons, bed spreads and kitchen accessories including typically hand woven rib quality placemats, table runners and carpets.
It was through fashion that Mick got to know the international top quality textile market. When the PAD concept was born Mick continued working with the same people. This is where we find one of PAD’s unique selling proposition: PAD uses textiles that are being produced for the high end fashion market and bring them into our living rooms. Today his loyalty towards old partners pays back in family like relationships with his suppliers in India and Portugal. The textiles are produced through hand-woven, hand worked and hand finished techniques. Final parts of the production process and quality checks are than done in the new headquarter in Mertingen south Germany. From here the products are being shipped into the worlds coolest furniture and concept stores. Only selected retailers have access to the brands products. PAD has achieved a stable price level, which the whole production and distribution chain appreciates. Once starting to work with a new customer the main question for Mick is: What are the organizational and communicative processes at the trade partners’ store? How can we together create new emotions and thus generate buying power? The outcome is an amazing, and more important selling in store product presentation.
Through its individual style and distinctive quality the PAD collection clearly sets itself apart from the usual mass-produced Asian textiles. Just touch any PAD product and the surface feel will blow you away. Every piece transports a unique charisma, which is based on the careful selection of textiles and fillings. The focus is set on ongoing quality measures and a design to be kept in the spirit of our times.
PAD concept is the amazing success story of two people who spend their live 24/7 dedicating everything they have into making a difference out there. I have visited the Mick, Sasha and their incredible team a couple times over the last years and I can tell you that their headquarter is one of the embraceable places where design and lifestyle meet the highest standards.
