The Berlin Boombox is a cool and fun mobile speaker – “A soundsystem you want to show off, like back in the old days” says Axel. His crowd-funding story now goes commercial. We do not often see creative crowd funding products at Ambiente in Frankfurt or even Maison & Objet in Paris. Axel Pfaender, a Berlin based illustrator and DJ is one of the very few who made it.

The Berlin Boombox story started in 2012 with a Kickstarter project. In 30 days

Axel raised € 20.000, tons of positive feedback, suggestions from backers, retailer requests and love from design blogs, gadget blogs, magazines, and radio stations.

 

The device works with every smartphone, cause you simply connect it to the headphone jack. The powerful speakers and amplifier are engineered by the well known partner MIVOC Pro.

The Berlin Boombox is available in different versions from “The Original” over a “Yo! MTV Raps” edition to a collaboration with “Montana”.
